A WOMAN with Down’s Syndrome from Colden Common has been shortlisted for an international photo competition.
Katy Francis’ My Dancing Feet was chosen from a range of entries for the My Perspective Photographic Competition 2014 which is run by national charity Down’s Syndrome Association.
The annual competition, now in its fifth year, is aimed at people with Down’s Syndrome in a bid to raise awareness of the condition and has attracted entries from across the globe including Greece, the USA and as far as New Zealand.
Professional photographer and head judge Richard Bailey said: “The quality of the images submitted for this year’s competition has been truly outstanding and it has been extremely difficult to narrow down the submissions to just 25.”
The winner will be announced at the award ceremony at Kew Gardens on Thursday.
Katy said: “I’m really pleased and surprised to be shortlisted and am looking forward to attending the awards ceremony.”
