ORB Gallery presents a solo exhibition of new paintings by New Forest artist Malcolm Crocker entitled Never-Forever from this weekend.

The gallery at 90 Old Northam Road aims to celebrate and showcase local artistic talent and to attract talents from further afield to the city.

Old Northam Road is fast becoming a cultural hub, attracting many creatives, and the investment in the area looks set to bring it back to its former glory.

Malcolm paints sublime, thought-provoking acrylic paintings. He lives and works in the Forest.

Since graduating with a first class BA (Hons) in fine art from Winchester Art College (Southampton University) in 2009, Malcolm has been selected for many group shows and two solo shows.

Malcolm said: “This work is about life, death, beginnings, endings, changes and the accumulation of time and the traces it leaves.

Daily Echo:

Never Forever 3

“Images may contain recognisable elements but objects, forms, and locations are modified to create ambiguity and raise questions for those who want to ask them.

“Attitudes, preoccupations and impacts on a small planet are one important concern.

“Our time here is short and precious. Ultimately are we really realising our potential as an intelligent life form or just a bunch of primates whose brains got too big. There is no forever!”
