A SEA of people swarmed through sleepy Hampshire roads today as the New Forest Marathon returned.
The new-look event brought around 5,000 runners in across four races - a marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K.
It was started by Olympic athlete and Commonwealth Games medallist Liz Yelling at its new home in New Park, Brockenhurst, after moving from New Milton.
The circular marathon course followed woodland trails through Ober Water and Wilverley Inclosure as well as the towns of Brockenhurst and Sway.
The race was first held in 1983 but did not take place last year.
