A HAMPSHIRE sculptor has created a novel Armistice Day tribute.

Michael Turner has made 11 stainless steel poppies for the eleventh day of the eleventh month which he has placed in around and Lymington for people to find and keep.

“I’d like whoever finds these poppies to donate what they can to the Royal British Legion to acknowledge the amazing hard work the men and women do in the armed forces,” said Michael, who has posted photos and clues to the whereabouts of the metal flowers on his Facebook page.

Both of Michael’s grandfathers fought in the Second World War and his research into their experiences has partly inspired this project.

The 39-year-old artist specialises in stainless steel sculptures, using recycled materials where he can, and has sold his works all over the world.
