POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a hit-and-run accident in which a 79-year-old man was injured.
The pensioner received cuts and scratches to his legs in a collision with an off-road motorcycle on a track between Hart Hill and the Hardley roundabout.
A police spokesman said: "We are looking to establish the circumstances of the collision and are keen to trace the motorcyclist, who left along Hart Hill towards Frost Lane.
"He is described as about 5ft 10in and of slim build. He was wearing black motorcycle leathers and a black helmet with the visor down. He was riding a blue/chrome Yamaha off road bike.
"The rider was in the company of another man on an off-road bike and a woman.
"The second man is described as having fair hair and aged 18. There is no description available of the woman."
The incident occurred last Sunday at about 2pm.
