A NOTORIOUS Hampshire daredevil infamous for climbing the buildings across the world has tonight been freed from prison in the Middle East.

James Kingston from Romsey claimed he had been arrested in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) attempting to scale a skyscraper.

Now he has announced authorities have freed him without charge less than 12 hours after he revealed he had been taken to prison for climbing the Dubai's second tallest building.

He is believed to be referring to the city's 101 storey Princess Tower which at 414m (1,358ft) is the world's tallest residential building.

The 26-year-old wrote on the photosharing site Instagram tonight: "I'm free!! I was eventually released without charge and have loads of footage/photos of the climb."

It was accompanied by a picture of himself on a top floor balcony and he adds: "My highest climb yet."

He also declared his freedom on social media site Twitter where he had previously wrote this morning:

“Just been arrested for climbing Dubai's second tallest building.

“Let's hope they let me go ha ha.”

The post was accompanied by a picture of him looking serious underneath a strip light lining a grey concrete ceiling.

The feat comes a year since the free-runner received widespread condemnation for hanging off another crane in Ocean Village Southampton.

Since then he has climbed buildings all over the world and been arrested at least twice.

James is believed to have arrived in the Middle Eastern country on Thursday when he posted a picture of a sunrise over the city on his Facebook page and wrote: “Good morning Dubai it's nice to finally meet you.”

Yesterday he has posted a picture of him barefoot dangling from a metal crane over a motorway at nightfall saying: “500ft above Dubai. This place is so awesome!”

Fellow free runner Dan Morgan, from Southampton, told the Daily Echo he was aware his friend had been held by authorities but believed that he may have been held prior to sending the tweet.

Dan said he is aware of the country's strict reputation and said: “It's completely different rules out there.

“But that's why James has gone to Dubai. He will be well - he's James Kingston.”

His latest detainment comes just a week after he posted a video of his latest stunt showing him balancing on top of a crane in Southampton city centre.

The daredevil climbed a white crane in the city's under construction Arts Complex in Above Bar Street and posed for a 'selfie' as workers wandered around below.

Last month he was arrested for climbing a 70 metre high chimney in Marktoberdorf in Germany.

He was also held by police for scaling the Eiffel Tower in Paris in August.
