SCORES of homes and businesses have been left without electricity this afternoon after a power cut.
Energy firm SSE, formerly known as Scottish and Southern Electric, have confirmed they suffered a power cut in the area to the south of Romsey.
Engineers are currently onsite at their Ashfield substation, just off the A27, trying to restore power.
They confirmed that 65 customers, including the Broadlands estate and the Romsey Rapids complex on Southampton Road were without power.
Staff had to evacuate customers after the leisure centre lost power at about 1.45pm.
A spokesman for SSE said: “We’re still investigating the cause of the loss of power at the moment. We’re trying to re-route energy from on part of the network to another part.”
The power was back on by 3.30pm.
A spokesperson for Romsey Rapids, said: "We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused for any customer."
