A HOME for retired men in Romsey to use their experiences to help build, repair and restore items to former glory is needed.

With Men’s Sheds springing up all over the country plans are well in hand to establish one in Romsey.

The main purpose of a Men’s Shed is to bring men together to share experiences, skills, make, repair and restore things, chat and much more, all in the friendly atmosphere of a shed. Already a core of enthusiastic members, keen to assist with a raft of community projects, are getting involved with a Romsey Shed.

So far the ‘Shedders’ have been making outside furniture and a ‘Mud Pie Kitchen’ for Little Starlights nursery group.

The group meets at Romsey Community School but are seeking more appropriate premises like a workshop or warehouse.

The Romsey Men's Shed will be holding an open meeting on March 2 at 5.30pm at the Crosfield Hall, Broadwater Road. For details call Graham Gowman on 07900 950307.
