PENSIONERS in Romsey can look forward to celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday with a celebration in Romsey town centre.
Anyone who is looking forward to celebrating their 90th birthday this year can look forward to joining the Mayor-elect of Test Valley, Councillor Karen Hamilton, on Sunday June 12.
She is inviting residents to join her in commemorating the Queen’s 90th birthday with a ‘Cake in the Park’ event from 11am – noon at the cafe in the Memorial Park, Romsey.
The second occasion is ‘Afternoon Tea’ served at 2pm and part of a larger community event being held in Vigo Park, Andover.
Cllr Hamilton said: “It’s such a significant achievement for anyone to get to your 90th birthday, for the Queen as much as anyone else, I would like to celebrate this with them and give them the opportunity to come and join the celebrations.”
Both these events are free and carers or a family member or friend are can come along if you require support.
