A DISCARDED barbecue in a Southampton city centre park led to a chemical toilet catching fire last night.
Firefighters were sent to Southampton Common after a smouldering disposable barbecue set a toilet – which had been used for Race for Life – alight.
Bystanders watched as a crew from St Mary’s used a hose reel to put out the fire at about 8pm.
