DOZENS of community-minded youngsters are set to start a summer-long project to improve some of its estates.
The city council-led Junior Neighbourhood Wardens will kick off six weeks of action across the city at the Southampton Children’s Play Association Play Day in Hoglands Park on Friday.
They will then set to work on a four day-long painting project to improve parts of the Thornhill Estate.
They will take part in nature photography at Swanwick Lakes on July 29 and August 12, 19 and 26, and will also hold a sports day on August 5.
On August 12 the wardens will clean up land around Sturminster House in Maybush before taking part in a community day in Thornhill on August 21.
Any youngster aged seven to 12 who lives on an estate in the city can become a warden.
Anyone interested in signing up should contact junior.wardens@southampton.gov.uk.
