FIVE teenagers have been arrested and a man has been taken to hospital after a spate of arson attacks in Southampton this morning.
Two cars and a front door were set on fire in a cluster of roads in Thornhill just after 4am today.
Firefighters from Hightown were first called to a car blaze in Solent Avenue where a white BMW 320 Cabriolet was severely damaged.
They were then called five minutes after first arriving at the scene to a front door on fire in Farringford Road, where police say a male occupant put out the blaze but was taken to Southampton General Hospital for smoke inhalation.
The fire crew also had to call for back up from St Marys after a third fire was found in Napier Road and a blue Seat Ibiza sustained significant damage.
Police have arrested two 14-year-old boys, a 12-year-old boy, a 13-year-old girl and a 15-year-girl a short time after the fires started on suspicion of arson.
They are all currently in custody.
