HUNDREDS of people are expected to attend the funeral tomorrow of a much-loved Southampton dad who died suddenly aged 42.

Dhurjati Shukla, known in the community as Tiku and as DJ, died in hospital after struggling to combat liver disease for months.

He was secretary of the Vedic Society Hindu Temple in St Mary’s for many years and was in charge of the Belvikas children’s group, as well as being an IT technician at the Daily Echo.

The President of the Radcliffe Road temple, Ravindra Parmar, said the 42-year old was “well loved” by the community and said he was the “adopted son of the temple”.

He leaves behind a wife, Manisha, and a 15-year old daughter, Udita.

His funeral will be held on Thursday April 28 at 11am at the East Chapel of the Bassett Green Crematorium, Bassett Green Road.

A memorial service at the Vedic Hindu Society Temple is being planned for the end of May.

Mourners are invited to donate to a collection in aid of Tiku, to be spent as Manisha sees fit.

Anyone wanting to do so should bring an envelope with “For Tiku” on it and hand it to the temple priest Ritesh Bhatt or the president Ravindra Parmar.
