SHE has seen hundreds of children grow up and do great things.

Tina Dumper joined Townhill First School in 1989 under head teacher Joyce Walker.

She has seen the school grow from a small school of just six classes led by 10 members of staff to a larger infant school with nine classes and 50 members of staff.

The grandmother-of-one, who has served under three head teachers, even introduced the colour-coded class system the school uses today.

Now the admin officer is retiring after from Townhill Infant School where she has worked for 27 years.

The 64-year-old from West End said: “It’s been the most wonderful place to work. It’s such a team here.

“I will miss the atmosphere of the school and how everyone is so dedicated to the children. I will miss watching the children coming into school quite shy and nervous and becoming confident wonderful youngsters when they leave here.”

Head teacher Beverley Corbin said: “Tina has been a fantastic and valued member of staff for 27 years. She is much loved by colleagues, children and parents and we will miss her.”
