A team of volunteers dressed in costume will help display the artefacts from Bitterne in the past, with a quiz open to children on the history of that part of Southampton. The theme is ‘Large Houses East of the River’ with tour guides educating visitors on all aspects of its history.

Members of the World’s Old Bowling Green will play in costume to invite visitors to get to learn the skill on Saturday, before a live friendly bowels game on Sunday. Club archives will also be on show.

Rare historical architectural features, known as mathematical tiles, can be viewed as part of a walking tour from the house and garden.
Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm
Hourly tours accompanied by talks and a pop-up exhibition that explore the hidden history of the park, once the site of Royal Victoria Hospital.
- Quaker Burial Ground, Brighton Road
Saturday, 10am-4pm and Sunday, 1pm-4pm
This distinctive walled space is opening to allow visitors to explore the resting place of Quakers since 1662. Named the ‘secret’ Quaker burial ground, it can be explored on Saturday from 10am until 4pm and Sunday from 1pm until 4pm.
- Southampton Heritage Fayre, St Joseph’s Catholic Church Hall

Exhibitors will set up at to allow visitors to learn more about their local culture.
- St Denys Church
Friday, midday-6pm and Saturday, 2pm-4pm
The Art of Heritage. Community Arts festival including local artists, craft makers and musicians.
- SS Shieldhall
Saturday and Sunday, 10.30am-3pm
Come aboard the historical steam ship. Visitors have the chance to see the impressive engine room with its original features as well as talking to the captain and crew. Both days visitors can purchase tickets (£20) for a short cruise, from 4pm to 6pm.
- Townhill Park House and Gardens
Sunday, from 2pm
Built in the late 1800s was previously owned by Lord Swaythling and is now a school to hundreds of pupils, who will lead the tours. They begin on Sunday at 2pm.
- Tudor House and Garden
Sunday, 10.30am-4.30pm
Tours, crafts, and live music at the historic building.
- Mottisfont Abbey Open Day, Mottisfont Abbey
Tours are available from Thursday 10am until 5pm.
- Romsey Signal Box
Sunday midday-4pm
Visitors can see the outdoor section of the railway track and can be involved in the operating of the box. The visitor centre will also be displaying photos and other exhibitions of railway items.
