AN EVENT telling the history of the Titanic will be held 106 years to the day that the ship sunk into the Atlantic ocean.
Participants will be able to learn about the ship's crew, where they stayed and how they prepared for the infamous journey during the Oxford Street's Titanic Heritage Day on April 15.
The event will take place on Oxford Street where crew and passengers lived and stayed before boarding the ill-fated White Star cruise liner – which hit and iceberg and sank on its maiden voyage in 1912.
Although many of the buildings are home to new venues, the history and heritage found within still remains.
The event will include a guided walk starting from 11am at Holy Rood Memorial Gardens, which will lead participants to Oxford Street.
As well as a walk, participants can also look in the buildings, including The London where there will be a log book from the owners at the time and enjoy a “crew members lunch”.
There will also a chance to visit The Grapes, Caskaway, Simons at Oxford and The Docks Coffee.
The tour is organised by Southampton Tourist Guides and costs £5 per adult, with kids going free.
