A HOLOCAUST survivor who grew up to become a famous pop star will tell her inspirational tale at a Southampton school.

Dorit Oliver-Wolff will speak at Chamberlayne College for the Arts on Friday, April 20.

Born a Hungarian Jew, she was just six years old when she went into hiding from Nazi soldiers.

After surviving years of terror, she joined a touring dance group after the war in order to leave the country.

She was later spotted by a talent scout and was given a record deal.

Almost overnight Dorit found herself on stage singing to the very German soldiers who had threatened her existence years earlier.

She later met her husband Frank and moved to Eastbourne in Sussex, where they still live today.

Staff, students and their family members will listen to her story in full during the event, which begins at 11.45am.

Admission is free. Call: 023 8044 7820.
