THREE men have been fined for illegal fishing offences on the River Itchen near Winchester.
The Environment Agency brought the prosecutions at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.
Wayne Coles, 37, of Portal Road, Highcliffe, Winchester, admitted fishing during the closed season and was fined £20, with a £20 victim surcharge and £35 costs.
Khalid Hamid, 24, of Grantham Road, Eastleigh, and Dean Wicks-Eales, 30, of Alexander Square, Eastleigh, pleaded guilty to fishing without a licence at Brambridge on May 15.
They were each fined £130 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and costs of £127.
