A WOMAN and two children were injured after a car crash outside a Hampshire pub this morning.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the crash, which happened in Jacklyns Lane, Alresford, by the Cricketers Pub at around 9am.

And officers have apologised after initially incorrectly stating the woman's injuries were life threatening.

The collision involved a black Audi A3 and a green Ford Fiesta.

The female driver of the Fiesta was taken to Southampton General Hospital and two children who were passengers in the vehicle have also been taken to hospital after suffering minor injuries.

The driver of the Audi was treated at the scene of the accident.

Firefighters from Winchester Fire Station were at the scene for 25 minutes and cut out two trapped passengers in the Ford Fiesta.

Nick Mills from Winchester Fire Station, said: "When we arrived at the accident was outside a pub called the Alresford Cricketers, the occupants of the car had been taken inside the pub and were treated by paramedics."

Jacklyns Lane is currently closed while police conduct an examination of the area.
