A ROMSEY school is celebrating after a supermarket chain gave them hundreds of pounds to support their musical activity.
Waitrose has given a £1,500 cheque to the Mountbatten School Music Academy as part of their commitment to support musical events or projects. The funding will be used to purchase heavy duty music stands at the Whitenap Lane school to support events held outdoors in the future.
Steve Corbett, branch manager at Waitrose in Alma Road, Romsey, said: “Stuart Marchant, director of music at Mountbatten, and his team at Mountbatten school, do an amazing job of providing bands and choirs that entertain the people of Romsey at many events throughout the year. I was therefore delighted that following their application for a grant that the Partnership choose to award Mountbatten School.”
