A CONSULTATION on plans to protect communities from flooding has received a largely positive response, organisers say.
Those behind a coastal management strategy which covers from the River Hamble to Portchester are now working on answering points raised by the public during the process which finished earlier this month.
Nearly 400 people attended exhibitions to hear about the strategy being developed by the Eastern Solent Coastal Partnership on behalf of Fareham and Gosport Borough Council.
Drop-in events across the area and 91 per cent of those who responded to the consultation questionnaire supported the strategy’s ideas being taken forward.
Responses are being reviewed and will be addressed with a specific response in the final consultation report, which can be viewed online early next year.
It is hoped the strategy can be formally approved by summer 2015.
