OBJECTORS to a proposed expansion of a recycling plant near Romsey have told a planning inquiry of their “extreme concern” if the plan was allowed.

The company RFSF, which is based at RF Salvidge Farms Ltd in Bunny Lane, Timsbury, wants to double the size of the operation there – a move that was rejected by the council on the grounds that it was in designated countryside.

The inquiry heard from a number of objectors, including the vice-chairman of Michelmersh and Timsbury Parish Council John Rhodes, who told the inquiry that the authority is “extremely concerned” about noise from the site having “an adverse impact” on nearby homes.

The hearing was adjourned until March 2.
