PLANS to build 33 homes in the centre of Sutton Scotney, including a row of terraced houses three storeys high, have won the backing of Winchester civic chiefs.

The scheme to redevelop Old Station Yard was unanimously approved by councillors on the development control committee.

The planning conditions imposed by the committee include an archaeological dig, a contribution of £33,690 to improve play facilities on The Gratton or in the locality and cleaning up any contamination on the site.
