SINGER Geri Halliwell has revealed she has no intentions of working with the Spice Girls again - and will concentrate on her writing career instead.

Speaking to the Daily Echo ahead of her Southampton book signing, the star said her books already have three high- profile fans - the Beckham boys.

Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz are said to love the Ugenia Lavender stories which have already spent four weeks on the best seller list.

And, said Geri, they may even see their mum Victoria appearing in future titles of the six-book series.

"I did create a character called Princess Posh Vatoria. Who knows, she may appear in later books."

When asked if she has finally found her niche, the feisty pop star and UN ambassador replied: "I think so. It's a question I've been asking myself. I feel I like telling stories and I like to be inspiring.

"I've always been a bit of a storyteller. I love language and the power of words. When I was in the Spice Girls I liked working on the videos and writing lyrics. I love seeing something you have created come to life."

Geri - who studied English Literature before joining the Spice Girls - admits there is more than a passing resemblance between herself and her flame-haired heroine Ugenia.

"I felt I needed a new medium for Girl Power and wanted a strong female character. There's loads of me in there - I'm writing her so it's inevitable. She's my kooky, naughty side that I can't bring out in real life."

The star - who says she was inspired by Enid Blyton's Naughtiest Girl stories - bats away suggestions that she may have had help writing her books.

"Anyone who's read it knows I did it because it's so mad. The 18 stories in the Ugenia series are very character-led. I'm proud to have created a well-rounded character not a flat, throwaway picture book. The stories have heart and depth but in a playful way. You can tell there's creativity and effort behind them."

Geri, 35, who lives in North London is also busy being a mother to two-year-old Bluebell Madonna.

"It's an eternal juggle between achieving quality time with my daughter and feeding my creativity," she said. "Sometimes I feel it's balanced and sometimes it's lopsided but that's life."

When asked whether she would ever work with the Spice Girls again or revive her solo career, her response was "No".

Geri will be signing copies of her second book Ugenia Lavender and the Terrible Tiger in Water-stones, WestQuay on Saturday between 4pm and 5pm.
