It's the new glamorous face of Southampton shopping, and one lucky Hampshire charity has all its support.
Westquay shopping centre - with its new £85 million extension, 20 restaurants a bowling alley and a luxury cinema - has announced Breast Cancer Haven Wessex as its charity of the year.
The Titchfield based centre provides support, advice counselling and therapy for people suffering from breast cancer, completely free of charge.
Part of a national charity with centres in London, Leeds, Hereford and Worcestershire, with a fifth centre set to open in Birmingham in October this year.
Westquay general manager Andy Collyer said: “We wanted to choose a charity that is making a real difference to the lives of people who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Having seen the wonderful therapies they provide to women and men and how much it supports them through their treatment and recovery, we are delighted to choose them as our charity of the year for 2017.”
Staff and volunteers from the Haven Wessex will run a series of fundraising events throughout the year beginning with an awareness day on March 21.
