A PUB running an election “ale” poll has the Tories in a commanding lead.

Drinkers at the Fulfood Arms in Winchester are being asked to choose a pint from a pump in their party’s colours.

The unscientific poll, based on consumption figures, has the Conservatives on 44 per cent, the Liberal Democrats on 31 per cent and Labour on 19 per cent.

The Lib Dems have held the Winchester constituency since 1997.
