PART of a busy city centre road in Southampton was closed because of a car crash.
Fire crews, police and ambulances were at the scene of the accident which happened in New Road.
A RED driving school Ford Fiesta and silver Renault were in collision.
A stretch of New Road, near Southampton Solent University, was shut by police for around an hour with traffic diverted along St Andrews Road.
Two fire crews from St Mary's were on the scene and cut a casualty from the RED driving school car.
The extent of any injuries sustained in the crash is not yet known.
