The players named are having a game because they are on the fringe of the first team and our manager wants to see them in competitive action.
If we win it will be a bonus.
If you lose it will be a cup your manager will say he is not interested in, even though he names quite a strong team.

Sounded like Kelvin has been playing well but Butterfield is struggling.
It also says there was a mix-up between him and the defence when Varney hit the crossbar.
I'd have prefered Boruc to play this one as he needs as much match practice as possible to get to his best if he's going to be first choice.

NA can now concentrate on keeping us in the Promised Land (PL) rather than risk injuries to players in an extended Cup run in a competition that's just for the Reserves up until the semi fnals.
I think NA was wise in picking a team with the intention of losing.

I like NA, he seems a nice guy but he can't expect to keep his job on what he's done in the past it's what he's doing now that matters.
I would far rather NC helped NA find his feet in the PL by getting in an respected coach with PL defensive experience, rather than sack him which would cause huge disruption and almost guarantee relegation.
Mind you to do that takes a bit of lateral thinking which I don't think the bean counter is capable of.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if NC didn't treat NA the same way as he did the programme sellers.

For some reason, Cortese made the same mistake as Lowe and went for youth. You also cannot do things on the cheap and buying one just seriously talented player was never going to be enough at this level.
Saints now need to weigh up what they are prepared to do to save the seasn if anything otherwise I would put money on us going down to the Championship.
With a heavy heart I have to say that it is time for Adkins to go its harsh I know but it is eithe that or we go down. Adkins is an unknown at this level and that will not have helped in finding and persuading quaity players to join us.
Get Benitez or somebody f that ilk in Nnow and we might survive if the right players come in in January or before if available on loan from foreign clubs.
