Cork back in contention

Daily Echo: Jack Cork Jack Cork

Saints midfielder Jack Cork is available for selection again, after recovering from a knee injury that has kept him out since the end of September.

The 23-year-old has not played a league match this season, having suffered an unfortunate run of luck when it comes to injuries.

He was ruled out for the opening weeks of the campaign after sustaining damage to his ankle in pre-season, before returning in a Capital One Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday, when he hurt his knee.

He is in contention for a place in the squad for tomorrow's visit of Swansea to St Mary's.

Right-back Frazer Richardson, who has been absent with a groin problem, is also close to making a comeback and is due to feature for the development team in Monday's game at Tottenham.

Get Cork back in the starting lineup pronto. We need extra defensive cover in front of our dodgy centrebacks. Jack Cork Olympian to the rescue!

Jack Cork is a quality player, and in time will be as good as Frank Lampard and Michael Carrick, knows how and when to pass the ball.

Probably the best news of the week.
Start him get a lead and change when he tires.
He had 90-mins for the U-21 in the week so won't be quite up to speed.
Seems November will be the month our fortunes change...just in time for the 6-pointer at Anfield!!!

The only thing i didnt enjoy about the Olympics was Cork getting selected,if anybody needed a good rest it was him,we have no other players that can protect the back-four as effectively, his absence is one of the main reasons for our poor start

So is JWP. Will he start or be on the bench again? Seems Adkins has lost faith in him. Since Everton he's only played 5 minutes at West Ham and has kept the bench warm. So much for playing youth!!!!!! Having said thatvAdkinscwill probably give Shaw a start tomorrow at left back. Is that a good idea after 8 defeats? It will either make or break the lad. As for Cork lets hope he's not being brought back to early again!!!!! I have this horrible feeling it will all go tits up tomorrow!!!! I really hope I'm proved wrong!!!!!! Good luck to the lads!!!!!

Chap low? You're having a laugh he's awful. Spider has struggled in the last two games as has Davis who was embarrassing against WBA! I hope Adkins starts with JWP his enthusiasm and tenacity rubs off on the other players. I bet he doesn't though he had JWP on the bench against WBA and brought Guly on - Christ!!!!!!!

Yes i agree give JAMES WARD-PROWSE a start and perhaps Ben Reeves too.GULY shouldn't even be on the bench he has had chance after chance and been pretty average for the best part of a year.Having said that if he does feature i hope he scores the winner for us.COYR
