Trojans need to get into their stride earlier than normal if they are to keep a grip on their London 1 status.

In recent years the Stoneham Lane side has enjoyed success and security by putting in winning runs from the new year through to the end of the season.

But this term they are struggling at the foot of London 1 South and cannot let tomorrow’s visitors, Gosport & Fareham, open up a gap.

Trojans sit second-from-bottom with a single win and bonuses netting them eight points, while Gos are a place above them on 12 points with a couple of victories.

Trojans coach Barry Bridgman said: “Both sides have this marked down as a must-win game and both will be going at full tilt in order to secure the points.

Back in first XV action are Trojans’ Jack Murphy, Simon Petler, Troy Cusack and Simon Greenhalgh.

Bridgman added: “I am looking forward to the game and I am sure that Gosport will be abrasive so I hope we get a strong referee.

“We know the dangers of the Dugan brothers who are both excellent players, and of course we aren’t going into this lightly, we will give them the respect they deserve.”
