Adkins tries to see the positives in Canaries draw

Nigel Adkins was trying to take the positives out of his side’s 1-1 draw with Norwich.
Saints made it four games unbeaten in the top flight with the St Mary’s draw.
However, it could have been even better.
Rickie Lambert gave Saints the lead on 32 minutes only for a horrible error from Paulo Gazzaniga who allowed Robert Snodgrass’s free kick to squirm into the net just before half time.
“We got another point on the board,” reflected Adkins.
“That’s eight points in four games which is good.
“Of course you want to win your home games and in the first half I believed we were going to go on and win.
“Unfortunately that wasn’t the case but we haven’t lost it and it’s another point on the board so let’s be positive about that.”
Adkins was less enthusiastic about Gazzaniga’s mistake.
“He’s got to keep the ball out of the back of the net,” said Adkins.

IMO the squad shoukd have been rotated last night in the midfield. Cork and Spider who didn't perform last night should have been replaced by JWP and Davis. Even when it was apparent that Cork and Spider were struggling NA made no substitutions!!! JWP wasn't even on the bench because Reeves took his place as Shaw who is excellent last 90 minutes. NA is under pressure no doubt he wants to stick with what e thinks s a winning team and he's frightened to make substitutions due to past criticism of him! I hope there are midfield changes against Liverpool!!!!

Players seemed a bit tired for some reason. I'm not sure why a sub wasn't made earlier. I'd have liked to have seen Mayuka come on.
Cork has just returned from injury.
Ramirez has also just returned from injury and now has to play more frequently than he has probably ever had to do.
Shaw is stepping up to a much higher level than he has played at before, hence the cramps every match.
On Sunday the entire midfield was very compact, with short passes, whereas last night there were gaps between them, leading to more misplaced passes, and more chasing to get the ball back.
NA has said that he asked AL and JP to play wider, so looks like the tactic nullified what we had against Newcastle.

over the full 90 minutes a draw was a fair result but their goal seemed to knock the stuffing out of our lads and we were second best for most of the second half.those 2 points that we dropped could mean the difference between premiership football next season and playing in the championship. Now i feel that we must win at liverpool on saturday or else we might become entrapped in the bottom three for the rest of the season.

Two wins and one draw doesn't change the fact that NA is struggling in the PL.
How can the youngest team in the PL look as knackered as Saints did last night?
Were they all on the p*ss to the early hours after beating Newcastle? --- just hope none of them were driving -- or is the training regime not up to PL standards -- take your pick both are probably right!
Has Solent Interiors been paid yet??

As soon as we scored something went from our game. Lambert even though he scored was below par and his movement off and on the ball was idle. Credit to Norwich they defended in numbers, were lively going forward and caused us problems.
This game hopefully re-enforces the need to be ruthless in the transfer Market and proves deals need to be done. All not in starting squad have a price, there's a lot of them and need to be moved on. We again need to bring in better than we already have in defence and keeper. Barnard, guly, and sharp out and let's bring in some one who can seriously challenge lamberts position, Jay is too young.
Same players bailing us out and we are putting a strain on them, they will end up injured or suspended.
Adkins again has a big job in this transfer window and he will earn his corn!
