Tony Hill is hoping to mark his boxing century in style, writes ADAM LEITCH.

The Southampton middleweight will tonight enter the ring for the 100th time in amateur and professional fights and is hoping for yet another win.

Hill has just returned from three weeks sparring with two time world champion Mikkel Kessler in Copenhagen.

It’s straight down to business as well as Hill returns to Southampton Guildhall, the scene of his first fight, to try and build on his last win over Kelvin Young with victory against well travelled Latvian Andrejs Loginovs.

“Sometimes they say you are only as good as your last performance and if you’re going by that then to me that was Tony’s best performance since he’s been a pro,” said trainer Wayne Batten.

“Since then Tony has been improving even more and building on that.

“Obviously three weeks away with Mikkel Kessler in his training camp is an amazing experience.

“I kept in touch with Tony while he was out there and he’s done all the right things to prepare and Kessler’s people have looked after him very well.

“It’s a nice little circle for Tony as well with it being his 100th fight in both amateur and pro boxing, and it’s at the same venue as the first.

“It means a lot to him and his family and hopefully we will see a good win."
