The fact that no-one knows what's going on in the transfer window must be great for the journalists. They can just print every exciting or worrying rumour. I think the key to success is just to make sure that non-news and minor news is given the same emphasis and headline size etc as geniune big news.

I've been trying to get into the business for a while myself without success. I was hoping to be appointed editor of the Big Issue when I told the proprietor at my interview that I thought we could create 250,000 more Big Issue selling jobs for the unemployed if lots and lots of big tits were put in it. But it wasn't to be and of course it's still as boring as ever.

The Echo also turned down my submitted article revealing the true reason why Nigel was sacked. I had two separate sources confirming my story that whilst Nicola was happy with all the footballing matters he was disturbed to hear that at breakfast time Nigel was often seen having quite long conversations with his Rice Crispies.

By the way, I don't want to upset any of my mates on here so if you see an advert in the Sex Phoneline classified ad column of the Daily Star under the banner "Listen to me moan! - £1.20 per min", please ignore it. It's just a recording of my missus **** about me leaving coffee cups around the house and not wiping my feet properly when I come into house.
Perhaps a rival issue would be on the cards. It could be called the Big Titsue. I'm pretty sure some topless babes on the street alongside the Big Issue sellers would be a much bigger seller.
Would have been a good idea, but all those 'babes' you mention have been snapped up by NC as programme sellers.

Once again, NC - barsteward that he may be to some - is ahead of tha game."

Forren: I didn't speak to Adkins over Saints move

VEGARD FORREN VEGARD FORREN

VEGARD Forren admits he never spoke to Nigel Adkins about joining Saints.

The Norwegian international centre half was officially unveiled as a Saints player just hours after Adkins was sacked on Friday, January 18.

But negotiations to sign the player had been ongoing for days, with Forren in the crowd at Stamford Bridge when Saints drew with Chelsea two days earlier.

"I never spoke to Nigel," said Forren.

"I knew that there was a change and that the new manager wanted me here.

“For me it was never a problem, I was happy to be here and have an opportunity to play for Southampton."

The Premier League is very popular in Norway but Forren is not worried about upsetting people back home if Saints pull off an upset at Old Trafford tomorrow.

"All of my friends and family in Norway are happy for me to be in the Premier League, everyone loves the Premier League in Norway," he said.

"Of course I have some friends who are United fans but if I do well and we get the three points they will be okay."

With Jose Fonte still missing through injury and Forren settled into the Saints squad following a training trip to Barcelona the 24-year-old looks set to make his debut against United.
