INSPIRATIONAL youngster Ava Scott became the first recipient of an ‘angel cake’ thanks to a charity in the town.
The eight-year-old Callands Primary School pupil has been bravely battling a rare form of cancer and has to learn to walk again after she had her femur removed and replaced in December last year.
Baker Wendy Pitts, from cake company Angel Cakes of Warrington, created a special Katy Perry themed-cake in time for a fundraising glitter ball for Ava at the weekend.
Wendy is one of a number of volunteers from across the country who have helped form Little Angels Cakes which make free cakes for children with life threatening conditions.
