Matt Le Tissier, left, is among a host of ex-players who will turn out for an FA Legends team against the Army FA tomorrow.

The match, which takes place at Reading’s Madejski Stadium, will be played in support of two Armed Forces charities – the Team Army Sports Foundation and the Royal British Legion.

England boss Roy Hodgson will manage the legends team, while his under-21 counterpart Stuart Pearce will take the Army squad.

Alongside Saints hero Le Tissier will be the likes of Graeme Le Saux, Gary Neville, Paul Merson, Gareth Southgate and Chris Kamara.

Ex-Saint Le Saux insists The Army have one significant advantage.

“They are fit,” he said. “If we allow them to chase around I reckon we are going to struggle. The idea for us will be to dictate the pace of the game.”
