Saints fans have reacted with overwhelming delight at the news that Mauricio Pochettino will remain as the club’s manager.
Pocehttino, who took over from the sacked Nigel Adkins in January, had threatened to quit if Nicola Cortese left St Mary’s.
Just two days after that threat an agreement was reached over future plans with the Liebherrs that allows Cortese to stay on.
Almost 1,500 people votes were cast in a dailyecho.co.uk poll that was open for less than 24 hours with 88 per cent saying that they were glad Pochettino was staying.
Nine per cent said they weren’t fussed either way with just three per cent upset that he remains as boss.
The snapshot underlines the support Pochettino has as he leads his side into the final game of the season against Stoke at St Mary’s this afternoon.
