The final round of The Dandys Ford Tens League went to guest Mark Blake.

He landed 26lb 1oz of crucians, roach and small carp on the pole and maggot from peg 7.

Others: John Foot, 24lb 15oz; R.Wallis 19lb 7oz., M.Shallow 18lb 2oz, M.Flack 17lb 6oz, J.Metcalfe 15lb 8oz. The series went to Sean Franks with 35 points from Jeff Andrews (34) and John Metcalfe (33).

The practise match for The Avon Valley Winter League on Passies Lakes saw some tremendous weights. Ian Dixon, pegged on peg 40, caught carp down the middle and across to the far bank on meat and corn for 91lb 12oz. Peter Kay, pegged on 65, caught carp to the far bank on meat for 88lb 10oz.

Others: S.Peacock 80lb 14oz (Arun Angling), A.Quarmby (Tubertini Apollo) 72lb 11oz, K.Parker (Passies) 71lb and S.Turner (passies) 70lb 8oz.

Rich Seed and his dad, Jim, who purchased Hordle Lakes in recent years, have been concentrating on turning Bobs Lake on the fishery’s complex into a specialist carp water. High quality bait and feed has improved the overall size of the carp on Bobs Lake in leaps and bounds over the last two years, as has the removal of smaller carp and silver fish. The final piece of the jigsaw came when a batch of carp between 15lb and 18lb were stocked by New Forest specialist carp suppliers Heather Fisheries.

On Christchurch AC’s Somerley Lake, some good commons continue to be caught. Mark Johnston took a 23lb 8oz common, James Hutton two double figure commons and George Straight a 22lb 7oz common. On Hordle’s Bobs Lake, locals known as Badger and Doona fished a 48-hour session and took 12 fish, including carp of 15lb, 17lb, commons of 20lb 4oz and 20lb 8oz and a 21lb 2oz mirror. Lewis Patterson did a 24-hour session and took a 26lb mirror. Mark Smith took four fish to 14lb 8oz, Damian Neil had six fish to 17lb 8oz, and Paul Starkey caught an 18lb 6oz common.

James White took 18 fish in 24 hours to 17lb 12oz and Chris Whitewood 11 fish including a 19lb 4oz mirror. Over on Todber Manor’s Paddock Lake, Clark Adams took the C.C Moore fish of the week Barbs along with a 20lb 8oz mirror. On Big Hayes, Roger Rendell did 48 hours to land 17 carp to 24lb 5oz on Sticky Baits Krill Wafters. Kris Hillier took 11 carp to 22lb on Sticky Baits Krill boilies. On Wadmill, Wayne Roberts took 21 carp to 16lb 3oz in a 36-hour session, while Allen Roberts landed 12 carp to 17lb 2oz.
