SAINTS loanee Emmanuel Mayuka suffered more misery at the weekend.
The Zambian striker is currently on loan to French club Sochaux, who have lost nine and drawn two of the 11 games Mayuka has played so far.
Mayuka – who scored on his only Saints appearance this season, in the League Cup at Barnsley in August – played the full 90 minutes as his club were beaten 1-0 at Nice yesterday.
That left them bottom of Ligue 1 with just eight points from 18 games and nine adrift of safety.
At least Sochaux put up a better performance than they did the previous week when they were thrashed 5-0 at leaders Paris St Germain.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice and £55m strike partner Edinson Cavani once in that rout.
Ibrahimovic is currently the top scorer in Ligue 1 with 14 goals – two more than Cavani.
Mayuka has scored three goals in his 11 Sochaux outings.
The last one came in a 5-1 defeat at Toulouse at the end of last month.
