Schneiderlin to miss Everton trip

Morgan Schniederlin will miss Saints’ trip to Everton on Sunday after picking up his fifth booking of the season.

The midfielder was yellow carded during the 3-0 victory at Cardiff, a fifth caution of the campaign which leads to a one game ban.

Jose Fonte avoided the same fate and now only needs to avoid a booking at Everton to get past the end of year cut off when the bar raises to ten bookings for a ban.

Dejan Lovren should be fit to face Everton.

He was a late drop out of the Saints squad to face Cardiff through an illness which saw him sent home before the match.

Kelvin Davis was fit enough to return to the bench while Luke Shaw was also back in the team.

Dani Osvaldo is technically available for selection after Saints appealed his violent conduct charge from the FA and, like Nathaniel Clyne, is touch and go to be fit for the game at Goodison Park at the weekend.

Both just failed to make the game at Cardiff.

Definitely out still are Artur Boruc, Victor Wanyama and Guly do Prado.

No problem. We've got Jack and JW-P as defensive mid and Steve Davis too. I think Callum Chambers could do a job there too with Nat Clyne back at FB. Anything from the next two games would be good. 6 points is not impossible and that would be awesome. That is the halfway point in the season and if we can double what we have now that would be a fantastic season from which we can push on again next year.

While they have Howard and Barry out... would still think we have the confidence back to take something from the game.

Thought his yellow card was unfortunate as I thought he was trying to avoid making contact, as their player ran across his path.

Still, he'll be ready for the Chelsea game.

Bit of a shame, but as he generally takes the cards "for the team", I can't complain too much

That's the first I have heard that Saints appealed Dani's charge, surely that should have been the subject of a thread, hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere else?

Morgan will be missed but,i am sure we can field a strong midfield for this game. JWP and Jack Cork are well capable to see us over the line. We came good at Cardiff so lets get there and have a go at them. With the away army we are a force too be reckoned with. Roll on SUNDAY can't wait to get there and cheer the boys on.
