SKRILL Conference South strugglers Gosport Borough are set to welcome in Crawley Town striker Jonte Smith on a month’s loan.

The 19-year-old Bermudan has agreed a one-month deal with the Privett Park outfit and is expected to be available for Saturday's trip to Weston-super-Mare.

Smith has previously had spells on loan with Tommy Widdrington’s Eastbourne Borough, Gosport’s neighbours Havant & Waterlooville and Metropolitan Police.

It was after a prolific spell with Met Police last season – producing 24 goals in three months and helping the club reach the FA Cup first round proper – that he earned promotion to Crawley’s first-team squad.

Smith made his Crawley debut as a substitute in a 3-0 defeat to AFC Bournemouth in December 2012.

All told he has made four first-team appearances for the Red Devils since signing professional forms for the now League One club in April 2012.

After moving to England from Bermuda in 2010, he hit 20 goals playing for Crawley’s academy and reserve teams.
