TWO of the Sydenhams Premier Division’s in-form marksmen will come face to face tonight when last season’s top two, Alresford Town and champions Blackfield & Langley, go head to head at Arlebury Park.

While Alresford’s Warren Bentley was busy banging four past Christchurch on Saturday, third-placed Blackfield had recent signing Jack Satterley to thank for their 3-1 victory at Fareham Town.

Satterley, a former Verwood Town player signed from Southern League outfit Bashley, weighed in with a hat-trick as the Watersiders fought back from a goal down.

Fareham twice went close to taking the lead through Gary Austin before getting their noses in front on 13 minutes when John Wilson was left with the goal at his mercy after great work by Austin.

Blu Boam then fizzed a 20-yarder past the Blackfield post before Satterley showed his first signs of life with a goal-bound shot that deflected inches wide.

Two minutes later, Satterley levelled with a low, driven shot past Luke Douglas.

Fareham nearly reclaimed the lead when Graham Lindsey’s shot bobbled just past the post, but it was Blackfield who took a 2-1 advantage back to the dressing room after Satterley had met Craig Feeney’s cross with a looping header over ’keeper Luke Douglas.

Both sides had chances after the break and Fareham came tantalisingly close when Lindsey’s header scraped the post before being safely gathered by Watersiders’ keeper Rory Anderson.

But Blackfield came again and put the game to bed in the last minute when man-of-the-moment Satterley coolly rounded Douglas to complete his hat-trick.

The Watersiders have completed the signing of young midfielder Lewis Ross who was dual-signed with Wessex neighbours Fawley AFC and Southern Premier outfit AFC Totton. Fareham, yet to reach the halfway point of their league campaign, visit Christchurch on Wednesday.
