CHANCE (55 mins): A great chance goes begging for Saints. Steven Davis threads a pass through for Luke Shaw, who bursts clear down the left. CHANCE (45 mins): Villa nearly take a fortunate lead in the final minute of the half. Ryan Bertrand fizzes in a cross from the left, which Artur Boruc dives to try and intercept. He ends up palming the ball against Dejan Lovren, with it deflecting just wide of the post. [0-0]
CHANCE (32 mins): After a long spell without any incident, Saints go close to taking the lead. James Ward-Prowse whips in a ball from the left that hits Rickie Lambert and drops to Steven Davis. His snapshot is flying towards the bottom corner, but Brad Guzan dives to his right to make a stunning stop. [0-0]
CHANCE (12 mins): Jose Fonte makes an excellent sliding tackle to deny Gabby Agbonlahor. Marc Albrighton's through pass had sent the forward sprinting clear, but he took a heavy touch, allowing Fonte to get back and make a last-ditch intervention. [0-0]
CHANCE (6 mins): Rickie Lambert goes close again. Morgan Schneiderlin picks out Steven Davis' smart run down the inside-left channel with a ball over the top. Davis cuts it back to Lamber in a great position, but his left-footed effort deflects off the diving Nathan Baker and goes wide of the far post for a corner. [0-0]

I think they [the final four games of the season] will matter. I think he’s obviously watching everyone, so it’s going to be hard decisions and that’s good. Obviously, he wants hard decisions, and he’s going to have a few. I understand I might be one of those situations, so I’ve just got to try and do well now, and score some goals in the remaining four games.Rickie Lambert
