Five junior Halterworth Harriers made the most of their Bank Holiday Monday by taking part in the ‘Try Tri’ triathlon based around Kings’ School, Winchester.

A 100m swim was followed by a 2km cycle and finished with a 1km run – open to eight to 14-year-olds. Roared on by their families, all five showed great perseverance to complete the course.

Charlie Anderson (10) came 19th overall in 16min 57sec, Emily Anderson (11) clocked 17min 23sec, Ella Grist (12) 20min 55sec, Annie Mann (8) 21min 04sec and Oliver Brown (11) 21min 41sec.

Oliver’s father, Gary, took part earlier in the adult sprint distance triathlon, fin-ishing in a respectable 1hr 48min.
