Banks unveiled as new Castle boss

Daily Echo: James Banks James Banks

WINCHESTER Castle have announced James Banks as their new first-team manager.

The former AFC Stoneham, Otterbourne and Stockbridge boss will be assisted by Stewart Beck – younger brother of new Alresford Town co-manager, Martin - and coach Terry Chapman.

The trio look forward to welcoming back last season’s squad that finished fourth in the Hampshire Premier Division and, with a few additions, are hopeful of delivering some silverware.

Club chairman Alan Roberts said: “James and Terry have been on our radar for some time. They epitomise the direction the club must take to succeed.

“The addition of Stewart Beck is an added bonus.”

Castle’s combination team is also under new management with Robbie Shearman stepping up to the helm.

The club begin pre-season training at their home ground of Chilcomb on Thursday, June 26 (6.30pm).

Good to see these guys back in the game after the way they were so badly treated by Stockbridge. Good managers and a good club. Good luck.

Back to County football which is about as far as their talent would take them - did a terrible thing to Stockbridge FC (all self-inflicted by the Robins Chairman though for appointing them without any real due diligence).

Haha Heathrowboy, a Robins chairman stooge no doubt. All the talk around non league football certainly pointed towards the Robins chairman, but not for poor due diligence, more for been an ego centric thug, who wanted to play fantasy football, added with a tendency for nepotism . Very misguided nepotism from what I saw . Ironic they may now be in the same league you berate!
