Former Saint joins Thistle

First published in Sport

EX-Saint Danny Seaborne has joined Partick Thistle on a two-year contract.

The 27-year-old defender has joined on a free transfer ahead of Partick’s opening Scottish Premiership match with Ross County on Wednesday.

Seaborne made 53 first-team appearances for Saints, and only three after suffering serious head injuries in an attack outside a Southampton nightclub in September 2011.

He spent time on loan with Charlton and Bournemouth before joining Yeovil after leaving St Mary’s.

A loan move to Coventry became permanent in January but his contract was cancelled by the League One club last week.

Sometimes it rankles to hear the Echo telling us how well our ex-players are doing, but I like hearing about guys like DS; good, honest pros who were part of our journey for a while, and who I wish all the best. Billy Sharp would be another; I'd be happy for the Echo to keep tabs on him for us.

I could do without the stories glorifying Callum Chambers though; we can all see what he's up to.

CB FRY LIVES says...

Good luck to Dan.
I hope he can become the best centre half at Thistle since Alan Hansen who of course moved onto to Anfield
And talking of Anfield I expect that the Saints will defy the bookies odds and go there on Sunday and get 3 points.
COME ON YOU SAINTS
