SOME of Saints' most successful recent stars have come together to star in a video for the club ahead of the offical unveiling of their new training ground.

The plaudits were led by the world's most-expensive footballer, Gareth Bale, who spent seven years with the club having graduated from the Saints Academy and has called his time there "the best education in football".

His words were echoed by the likes of Theo Walcott, Rickie Lambert, who said he 'owes everything to Southampton', Matt Le Tissier and current players Morgan Schneiderlin, Matt Targett and Kelvin Davis.

Bale said: "When I think back to playing at Southampton it was just good times, happy times."

He added: "Without being there I really don't think I'd be where I am today."

Walcott commented: "I would sum up my time at Southampton as probably the best decision I have ever made in my life.

"They just know how to develop players. They never stop. Even if players move on they have the right coaching staff to develop the next one coming through.

"They gave me the opportunity to show what I could do at such a young age."

The club are currently enjoying their best ever start to a league season, and sit second in the Premier League table.

Club legend Matt Le Tissier said: "If you can't develop as a player here then you won't develop yourself anywhere and the great thing about this football club is if you're good enough you'll get a chance in the first team.

"I feel so proud of what's going on here at the minute with the facilities we've got and the team we are putting out on the pitch and the way they're playing their football."
