Saints are considering going beyond Europe for their pre-season tour this summer, chairman Ralph Krueger has revealed.
The club are currently exploring options for the trip, although they will only choose to go on a long-distance one if it suits manager Ronald Koeman and his preparations for the 2015/16 campaign.
Krueger is keen to make Saints an established name in places such as North America and Japan, and admitted the club are looking into taking the team to a new, international destination this summer.
In the second part of his big interview with the Daily Echo, he said: “There are conversations right now to take the trip to possibly outside of Europe.
“Where exactly, we've got some options on the table, but they need to fit into the whole picture.”
