Marek Saganowski is encouraging his Saints teammates not to let negative thoughts enter their minds ahead of two crucial matches.
The Polish striker scored his third goal in four games to put Saints ahead at Stoke at the weekend.
But they couldn't hold onto the lead and the on-loan Troyes striker and his colleagues suffered a 2-1 setback at the Britannia Stadium.
Now Saganowski knows the two home matches this week against Cardiff and Colchester must yield six points if Saints are to have a shot at the play-offs.
He is calling on his teammates to think positively going into the games - starting against former boss Dave Jones and his Cardiff side tomorrow.
He said: "Now all the games are so important.
"These next two are more important of course because they are at home.
"Every time we play we have to be optimistic and not negative".
