Saints skipper Claus Lundekvam has told his teammates it's time to show their commitment to the cause ahead of two games he describes as "crunch time".

Lundekvam was bitterly disappointed not only with Saints' second defeat in a week when they lost to Stoke on Saturday, but also the manner in which it came.

He was not pulling any punches or making excuses for a very poor performance and, after some introspection from the team at the club's Staplewood training ground yesterday, is hoping things will turn around starting with Cardiff at St Mary's tonight.

He said: "It's been very disappointing the last couple of weeks.

"We played some good stuff against Preston and didn't get a result but, on Saturday, we were poor for 90 minutes and didn't really deserve anything.

"They wanted it a little bit more than us which was very disappointing to accept.

"We've taken a bit of a hit in recent weeks where I feel we've let ourselves and our supporters down.

"We've had a good chat about it and now it's time to have a good, hard look at ourselves and hopefully we can all realise now this is crunch time.

"We have to bounce back after two really disappointing defeats.

"We have two home games in three days - and nothing less than six points is good enough".
