LIFELONG Saints fan Ted Sainty got more than he bargained for after his impassioned speech at a recent fan’s forum – an invite to meet the chairman.
Sainty told listeners to the BBC Radio Solent forum of his dedication to Saints, and so taken aback was club chairman Ralph Krueger, who was one of the panel members, that he decided he wanted to speak to him further about it.
So Krueger invited Sainty, and his family, in for a drink and a personal meeting before the Bournemouth game.
Krueger didn’t stop there though.
The affable Canadian apologised on the evening that he was unable to give precise answers to questions posed by two other supporters, Nick Hodge and Keith Callaway.
That was not to be the end of the matter, with Krueger asking both of them in individually once he had fully researched the answers to explain to them in person what they had wanted to find out.
“It was great to have a chance to speak with passionate supporters of the football club,” said Krueger.
“They are the most important thing to us and it was fantastic to hear their views and we will continue to work hard for them.”
